Healthy Air - Sustainable Dubuque

Healthy Air

Sustainable Dubuque is a community that values fresh, clean air, reduced greenhouse gas emissions and minimized health risks.

How is Dubuque achieving the Healthy Air principle?

  1. Methane capture for beneficial use at the Water & Resource Recovery Center and Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency
  2. Community tree planting initiatives
  3. Increasing transportation alternatives, through efforts like improving bike/hike trails and making The Jule transit routes more accessible for all

Improve the Indoor Air Quality in my home.

Testing for and mitigating radon is one important step in improving the indoor air quality in your home.  The City Health Department has radon test kits available.

Reduce the negative impact my transportation choices have on the environment.

Biking, walking, carpooling, and riding The Jule public transit system are all excellent ways to reduce your own carbon footprint.  Start with the simple first step of tracking your weekly trips and look for opportunities to combine or eliminate trips.
